Above "Weihe" Fotos are showing the same plane at the same location & the same moment. See the position of the propellers. Means probably the same photographer...

Would assume that the source could be the same as well: BA.

Personal photo...

Beitragvon Nacht » 22/1/2007, 20:50

First photo above did not come from BA... Hpt. Thom Keillerman... notation on reverse circa... Alexandria vacation purchase in 1996... 24 exposure roll of film negatives in 70mm. Had to go look... sorry. Three more photos of a/c and 16 of crew and soldiers. Four of Steyr and Horch 901's with Rommel (is this then, just prior to his final departure from Afrika???) One photo with loading fuel to vehicles from Opel... but only this photo for publication on web as of yet.

DORA link for you confirmed... Rommel link appears to me confirmed... at least he shakes two member's hands!!! and the Steyr 1500 is radio location truck as answer to part of thread query as it has "T" beam antenna... and two additional radios.

OK... Micha

I think that I sorted out the dilemma of the DORA photos...

This pic of the "W" and 1500 is the last picture in a roll of 24 photos stored now at BA or BildArchive in Berlin... used to be BundesArchive...

The next 24 pics. roll are from the PK photographer's collection that I bought...from Hpt. Thom Keillerman collection.
I simply posted the very first pic in the set... looks identical but smaller? But still do not understand Rommel shaking hands with the driver and rider in the Zwilling mounted Steyr in photo 2 of this next roll of film???

Also why would the B be painted in and down to look like the 21 Panzer Division symbol?
